Basildon & Pitsea Cricket Club Lost by 10 runs

Match report Basildon and Pitsea 236-7 net score 292,

Rayleigh a 246-4 net score 286.

Yet another glorious day, at the home of essex cricket (MOPSIES PARK), we decided that this week to try and stop our bad run of defeats,and play 10 player. We lost the toss and were put into bat by a very eager Rayleigh captain, so Ryan, the captain for the day, and Jody were first pair out, with the battle plan,DONT GET OUT, and saw of some good bowling and put us in a good start, then Harrison Morris, and Ian Woodward, came in, but after scoring some excellent runs Harrison was out, soon to be followed by Ian, so we were now Below the 200 runs,Next pair were Harrison Birch, and Jordan, and they scored runs to start,But Jordan was out twice and Harrison was out once, we were looking like we were going down without a fight,And then came Connor and Rhys, who steadied the innings, So having been so frustrated in the score box, Mitchell and Ross came in as the last pair to bat, we have got to the dizzy score of 210, this pair then scored 36 runs between them and could had scored more if we did not refuse to take some 2's, so we came of with score that 30 minutes before we had no chance of getting.

So we had some refreshments, COMPLIMENTARY, AND WELL DONE BY LORRAINE BARNES,

So it was like being on a roller coaster ride,all the UPS AND DOWNS.

Now our turn to bowl, first ball Wicket, But a rather late no ball call,cancelled out our early break, due to some very sloppy fielding, and 2 Dropped catches we Suffered another defeat, By This time the Basildon Telegraph was working overtime and some breaking news that The U 13, had one there game, Leaving The U 11, The only team without a win this season,

There were some great individual performances on Sunday, but with not many games to go we need that first victory,

Next Game Pegasus And Corringhan, Away.

I WOULD LIKE TO THANK YOU TO DAVE SHARPE,IAN THE OTHER SCORER, WHO LISTENED TO MY FRUSTRATIONS, AND ALL THE PARENTS AND RAYLEIGH SUPPORTERS WHICH MADE DEFEAT A SLIGHTLY LESS BITTER PILL TO TAKE.
