Another lovely summer's day - cloudy, grey & cold.
Got to have been the filtiest scorer's box in the league - at least I hope so - huge cobwebs, several spiders - didn't look as if it had ever been cleaned since it was built.
Danny was captain again in the absence of Michael, with Mike Blerkom stepping in to bolster the batting side. Apparently, the batting conditions were very hard, and Mike didn't hang around, scoring 12 before being caught after 25 minutes. Joe hung around a bit longer, almost an hour, to score his 11 during which time he saw Scott arrive & depart for 8. Tony & Vipin fell fairly quickly to the Hutton captain, Danenbergsons, who was having a good day, though Tony did manage to get the joint-top score of 13. Danenberdsons also picked up Stace's wicket - he scored 1 in 40 minutes. Danny was in next & took almost an hour to equal Tony's score before falling to another Hutton bowler having a good day. Fluffer was in next & didn't do too badly to score 12. Brown chipped in with 3, Kiani 4 & Asif was not out for 1. So we were all out for 86 in 47.2 overs, surely Hutton wouldn't have any trouble with that score?
Interesting fact of the innings - after 34 overs there had been 17 maidens, including a run of 8 in a row.

After tea Brown opened the bowling with a maiden, with Hassan at the other end going for 3. Brown waited until the 9th over before taking his first wicket, with Asif, on to replace Hassan, taking the wicket of the Hutton opener with the 2nd ball of his 1st over, the 10th. Brown got his next in the 11th over, Hutton were 12 for 3 and things were looking up. I could go on, but suffice to say Brown & Asif got 5 wickets each and saw Hutton off for 76 in 36.2 overs.

So Danny got his first win as captain, we got 20 points and all back to the Club to celebrate with a pint or 2 of orange. Well done boys.
