Last game of the season and we need to win to make sure we go up - just in case Woodford roll over. Shouldn't be a problem, Leigh on Sea were all out for 56 at theirs, the easiest game of the season so far. As long as the lads played their normal game and didn't get nervous. Weather was good, warm & mainly sunny.

Got there early, few others there already. Was planning on leaving early-ish so didn't take my stuff for Newcastle. If wrong decision-making was an Olympic sport I'd be gold.

We won the toss & put them in to bat. Couple of their players didn't do too bad scoring 43 and 27. Of our bowlers Asif was the best on the day with 4 wickets for 18 runs. Brown, Kiran & Lewis got 2 each with the latter bowling particularly well with 7 maidens and no wides. The 11 byes & 5 leg byes were all off Asif's bowling, Danny could probably explain why, maybe it was the new gloves.

The fielding wasn't particularly great but there were catches from Luke, Scott, Mike (B), Danny & Michael (G) and one stumping. Leigh on Sea decided to bat on after 52 overs and got the grand total of 2 runs for their trouble. Serves them right.

After yet another delicious tea Mike & Scott came out to bat just after 3.30 so plenty of time to reply. Mike, back in the side at the expense of someone who couldn't keep it zipped did well, top scoring with 43 including 6 4s and one 6. Michael came in at no. 3 and scored 31 (5 4s), his joint top score of the season. Kiran (4 4s) & Tanvir (5 4s) were both 24 not out and wrapped it up in under 2 hours at which point we finally got the chance to take a team photo and the celebrations began.
