BASILDON & PITSEA CRICKET CLUB

Outdoor training sessions for youths begin in April.

Under 11's will be on Mondays from April 19th
Under 13's will be on Tuesdays from April 20th
Under 15's will be on Thursdays from April 22nd

Sessions will cost £2 and begin at 7pm until 8.00 / 8.30pm

Full details will be posted to those who attended training last year.

The club is in the running for funding for a new clubhouse at Mopsies. This will require a working party of up to 5 people to organise and manage the project on behalf of the Committee. If you are interested (or may have contacts in the building/construction trade) then please get in touch with the committee. We hope to be able to have the working party together by the Players' Meeting on the 22nd March.

I have learnt to-day, of the passing of one of our Vice-Presidents, and Panel Umpire.. Rex Clarke. We send deepest sympathies to his next of Kin. I have known Rex for over 50 years, bpth as a player for Pitsea St. Michaels and as an Umpire. He will be sadly missed. Bob Ayres

Winter nets at Fitzwimarc School will commence on the 24th January, 4-6pm.

There were no takers for Sunday A XI Captain and Cricket Manager at the AGM. If anyone is interested please get in touch with the Committee.

This years awards evening was held at the Post Office Club (usual venue) on Halloween! Many who attended (kids) dressed appropriately for the occasion (although most of the committee didnt need extra make up!)

The under 21 team are the winners of the annual presidents day game. The day was well support by club members, however there are rumours of match fixing following the slump in batting performance from the over 21's and rumours of Mr B's cheap bar specials running low.

The Youth section would like to thank all those who attended its first ever Fun Day on August bank holiday. There was an estimated 150 present and even the weather turned up which helped make the event an enjoyable day for all and something which we intend to repeat next year!
