Emergency Information

Injury or Accident

In the event of an accident, or injury please observe the following procedures:

1)    Stay calm; act swiftly and observe the situation.  Is there a risk of further injury?
2)    Listen to what the injured person is saying.
3)    Alert the qualified first aider who will take the appropriate action for minor injuries.  First Aid kits for this purpose are kept at both grounds.
4)    Deal with the rest of the group and ensure they are adequately supervised and are safe.
5)    In case of medical emergency, please call 999 and ask an ambulance.  The location of our grounds are:

The Basildon & Pitsea Cricket Club, Timberlog Close, Basildon, SS14 1PF for games being played at Mopsies.
The Basildon & Pitsea Cricket Club, Langdon Hills Recreational Ground, New Avenue, Basildon, SS16 6BT for games being played at Langdon Hills.

6)    Do not attempt to move anybody who has a serious injury, or remove any objects they maybe impaled on; wait for the emergency services.
7)    Contact the injured person's next of kin / parent.  Full details of all members will be stored behind the bar at Mopsies, or in the "battle box" at Langdon Hills. 
8)    Ensure that an accident form is completed; copies of the form are kept with the members details behind the bar or in the "battle box".

Fire

In case of fire, ensure that everybody has left the building; do not permit anybody to re-enter the building once they have left.  For both grounds, the fire meeting point should be the middle of the playing square; please ensure that everyone congregates in this area.

Dial 999 and ask for the Fire Brigade.  The location of our grounds are:

The Basildon & Pitsea Cricket Club, Timberlog Close, Basildon, SS14 1PF for games being played at Mopsies.
The Basildon & Pitsea Cricket Club, Langdon Hills Recreational Ground, New Avenue, Basildon, SS16 6BT for games being played at Langdon Hills.

In the event of a fire during an adult game; it is the responsibility of the home team captain on the day to ensure that all persons have left the building, and that they adhere to the fire precautions.
In the event of a fire during a coaching session; it is the responsibility of the head coach of the session to ensure that all persons have left the building, and that they adhere to the fire precautions.
In the event of a fire during a youth game; it is the responsibility of the home team manager on the day to ensure that all persons have left the building, and that they adhere to the fire precautions.
In the event of a fire during a social event; it is the responsibility of the bar manager to ensure that all persons have left the building, and adhere to the fire precautions.


Police

Police stations are located near to both grounds; for Basildon at Great Oaks, SS14 1EJ and for Laindon at Durham Road, SS15 6PH. The telephone number for both stations is 101.

Should you discover that either clubhouse has been broken in to or damaged; do not touch or move anything.  Call the police and wait for them to arrive and direct you as neccessary.
