Basildon & Pitsea CC Junior Section
Welcome to the 2015 season !!
The junior section plays a big part at the Basildon & Pitsea Cricket Club; and is all thanks to the hard work of many club members and volunteers. In 2012, we were successfully re-accredited as an ECB Clubmark club which demonstrates that the club takes issues like your Child's Welfare seriously.
As a club, we continue to go from strength to strength, and both our junior and senior sections are aiming for success in 2015. We have a thriving youth section, which in 2014 had over 80 members, and we run teams from U9s through to U16 age group; and in 2015 we will see the first full year of our ‘mini buffaloes’ (boys & girls cricket for U7s).
As a cricket club we have six adult sides; four of these play in the Shepherd Neame Essex League on a Saturday; the Basildon Buffaloes (our T20 midweek team) and a Sunday Friendly XI, which play friendly games in the local area. We pride ourselves that approximately 70% of our senior sides contain players that have come through from our youth section, and in 2014, on a number of occasions our 1st XI was made up of all players that came through our ‘youth system’. We do not support junior members playing in senior games just to make up the numbers i.e. not bowling or batting – all our junior members play an active part in any matches they play in.
